Aisling Nic Cárthaigh
Tá MA i mBainistíocht na hEalaíona agus Léiritheoireocht Cruthaitheach (Coláiste na hOllscoile Corcaigh/ Cork Opera House), agus BA sa Ghaeilge agus Stair (COC) ag Aisling Nic Cárthaigh. Is stiúrthóir, léiritheoir, bainisteoir stáitse agus oideoir na taibhealaíona í. Rinne sí staidéar sa Montfort College of Performing Arts le níos mó ná deich mbliana. As sin, chothaigh sí paisean don drámaíocht agus damhsa. I gcaitheamh na bliana, bhain sí Bonn Óir sa Dhrámaíocht, agus Bonn Cré-Umha sa Véarsaíocht agus Prós amach leis an London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Tá sí fós sáite sa scoil, ag múineadh ranganna drámaíochta, damhsa agus amharclannaíocht cheoil.
I gcaitheamh a cuid ama i gCOC, bhí sí gafa leis An Cumann Drámaíochta. Bhí sí ina léiritheoir, agus stiúrthóir ar go leor dráma. Sa bhlian 2019, fuair sí Gradam na Gaeilge ó Ionad na Gaeilge Labhartha (COC).
Chomh maith le sin, chaith sí dhá shamhradh i Haliburton, Ceanada ag obair i Camp Northland B'nai Brith mar Chinnire na Taibhealaíona. Ansin, mhúin sí ranganna drámaíochta, damhsa, amhránaíochta, agus cócaireachta gach lá. Chomh maith le sin, bhí sí mar stiúrthóir, agus cóiréagrafaí ar dhá cheoldráma in aghaidh na bliana.
Aisling Nic Cárthaigh holds an MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing (University College Cork/ Cork Opera House), and a BA in Irish and History (UCC). She is a director, producer, stage manager, and performing arts educator. After studying at the Montfort College of Performing Arts for over a decade, she has nurtured a passion for theatre and dance. During her time at the school, she achieved a Gold Medal from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts for Acting, as well as a Bronze Medal for Verse and Prose. She continues to be heavily involved in the school, now teaching drama, dance and musical theatre.
During her time in UCC, she was heavily involved with An Cumann Drámaíochta where she produced, and directed, many plays. In 2019 she was the recipient of Ionad na Gaeilge Labhartha (UCC)’s Gradam na Gaeilge.
She has also spent two summers in Haliburton, Canada, working at Camp Northland B’nai Brith as a Creative Arts Counsellor. During her time there, she taught drama, dance, music and cooking classes daily. As well as this, she also directed and choreographed two musicals per summer.
